CCSA History Top of Page |
The Contra Costa String Association was formed in 1985 in an effort to encourage and foster the growth of string playing in Contra Costa County. One of CCSAs first projects was to sponsor a Young Artist Competition, which is for string players residing in the Contra Costa County and those who study with a CCSA member or any teacher in the county. This continues to be a vital CCSA activity. Until 1990, when CCSA became a non-profit organization, it consisted of a few dedicated professionals who worked toward planning events. It now has nearly one hundred members, including string enthusiasts and supporters, players of all ages and level of proficiency, and other instrumentalists. All members receive newsletters and directories. CCSA hopes to be a valuable service to all interested in string playing. Our fiscal year is from January 1 to December 31. Being a non-profit organization, the Contra Costa String Association does not pay fees to its members. Your tax-deductible donations to CCSA are always welcomed and greatly appreciated. To make a donation, please send your check (made out to CCSA) to Marie Schwarz, treasurer: Marie Schwarz For a CCSA Membership Application please contact: John Blasquez |
